Inspiration
The natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula provides unlimited inspiration for paintings. The scenery is constantly changing with the weather and the seasons...it never gets boring! My hope is that others will experience the natural beauty of Olympic Peninsula landscapes and scenes through my art paintings.
Background
There are many artists in my family. As a child I would watch them paint, and I played at art painting alongside them. In the last few years, I've been inspired to create paintings of Olympic Peninsula landscapes and scenes. I love letting the process play out, and I'm usually surprised by the result!
Mediums
I create art painting with oils, acrylics, and gouache. I paint on gallery wrapped cotton canvas, regular stretched canvas, canvas panels, or paper. When I'm doing plein air creations of Olympic Peninsula landscapes and scenes I paint on canvas panels, since they're easily portable. I plan to experiment with soft pastels this winter.
